Tiger Woods buried Rory Sabbatini and the rest of the field as he continued his domination of World Golf Championship events. This was his sixth WGC Bridgestone win.

Should Tiger Woods never win another World Golf Championships event, it would be many years, possibly never, before another golfer equals what he has achieved there. Woods took his sixth Bridgestone Invitational championship today as he finished at -8, eight shots clear of the field. Justin Rose and Rory Sabbatini finished T2 at even par, one shot ahead of Peter Lonard and Chris DiMarco, who may be beginning to surge after long-suffering from injury.

Davis Love, III and Andres Romero, one week after his win at The Deutsch Bank Players' Championship of Europe, finished T4. With his win last week and strong finish this week, Romero removed any doubt that he's for real. Most people thought he would not soon recover from the mishap at the British Open. He looks like a real contender for next week's PGA Championship.

At the Reno-Tahoe Open, the PGA TOUR's full-field event this week, Kentuckian Steve Flesch also had a dominating performance. He led wire-to-wire and finished five shots clear of the field. Although he hasn't had a stellar year, until now, Flesch is the epitome of underrated. Although securely in the top-144, he's running out of time to break into the top-20 in the Fedex ranking. Kevin Stadler and Charles Warren finished T2.

After both tournaments, here is the new Top-20 Fedex Cup rankings:

  1. Tiger Woods, 25,624
  2. Vijay Singh, 19,129
  3. Jim Furyk, 16,691

  8. Charles Howell, III, 12,037
  9. Adam Scott, 10,673
  10. Sergio Garcia, 10,547

  17. Boo Weekley, 8,849
  18. Padraig Harrington, 8,694
  19. Luke Donald, 8,530
  20. Justin Rose, 8,176

Next week, the TOUR moves to Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the PGA Championship, the final Major of the year. Tiger looks to be in top form. Jim Furyk, who did not play this week, Justin Rose, Padraig Harrington, Andres Romero and Steve Flesch lead a group of players who have been playing extremely well in recent weeks.

The time is nearing for the first Fedex Cup playoffs. Time for players to step-up their games. Sitting below the playoff cut-off are Eric Axley, Steve Lowery, Cameron Beckman, Chris Couch, Mark Hensby and Mathias Gronberg, at positions 145 through 150.
