Boo Weekley was able to quickly shift the focus from his missed putt at the Honda Classic by winning the wind-delayed Heritage. He enters the top-10 for the first time.
1. Tiger Woods - Official World Golf Ranking, 1, Fedex Cup standing, 2nd - Tiger didn't make the trip to Hilton Head Island this week. As several of the other leading money winners were also idle, his number one money ranking is secure for now.
2. Vijay Singh - OWGR, 7, Fedex Cup standing, 1st - Vijay also took a break from competition after the Masters Tournament. His rankings remain unchanged.
3. Charles Howell, III - OWGR, 16, standing, 3rd - Howell was absent from The Heritage. He hasn't played the tournament since his missed cut in 2003.
4. Zach Johnson - OWGR, 15, Fedex Cup standing, 9th - Even after his Masters win and a whirlwind of a week, Johnson continued his fantastic play at The Heritage in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He came home to a sixth-place finish at nine under par. He moved up to 4th in driving accuracy percentage and 8th in scoring average.
5. Phil Mickelson - OWGR, 4th, Fedex Cup standings, 4th - Phil was tending to other matters this week as well. Although rumors have placed him at Doral working with Butch Harmon this past week, his long-game swing coach, Rick Smith, has said there’s no coaching change in the works.
6. John Rollins - OWGR, 44, Fedex Cup standing, 5th - Just as many others, Rollins was inactive this week. He dropped two spots in the OWGR as a result. Remember, though, he’s quietly in the middle of a great year.
7. Aaron Baddeley - OWGR, 26, Fedex Cup standing, 6th - Badds had a solid tournament in difficult weekend weather conditions. He finished The Heritage in a tie for 10th place. He now ranks third in top-ten finishes, up from seventh.
8. Adam Scott - OWGR, 3, Fedex Cup standing, 6th - Scott skipped The Heritage and is not scheduled to tee-it-up at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. Keep in mind that he hasn’t missed a cut this year and he ranks highly in some key categories: 6th in birdie average and 4th in par five birdies or better.
9. Boo Weekley - OWGR, 55th, Fedex Cup standing, 8th - Suite 101 Golf has been saying for weeks now that Weekley would break through. After a couple of weeks off, and now far removed from the Honda Classic heartbreaker, he is a winner on the PGA TOUR. His statistics are surprising. He ranks in the top-ten in total driving, all-around ranking, par four birdies or better, scoring average, round three scoring average, final round scoring average, total birdies, ball striking and par four performance. Here’s to the newest first-time winner continuing his winning ways.
10. Geoff Ogilvy - OWGR, 9th, Fedex Cup standing, 11th - Who knew Ogilvy even played this week? He played and made the cut, but turned in one of his worst cards of the year to place T50 at Hilton Head. Ogilvy is hanging on to the top-10 by being just over $1,000 ahead of Henrik Stenson.
