PGA Money List Top-10, Week 31Money Leaders, World Golf Ranking and Fedex Standings for This WeekThe Canadian Open title was taken for the second year in a row by Jim Furyk. Although most of the PGA TOUR money leaders took the week off, others made progress.
Furyk is quietly having a spectacular year. He's missed only two cuts this year and finished outside the top-20 on four occasions. He has five top-fives in his last seven tournaments, including this week's win. Statistically, Furyk ranks 2nd in driving accuracy, 3rd in scoring average, and 9th in all-around ranking. Speaking of quiet, Steve Stricker is the epitome of the comeback, but he isn't getting a lot of attention. Fantasy golf rosters would be wise to include him. He has nine top-25 finishes, six top-10's and two runners-up. Only the win has eluded him this year. If the 40-year-old Stricker is able to hold on to his good form, which he undoubtedly is capable of doing, he'll get it. With the PGA Championship, the season's final major, only a few weeks away, fantasy golfers should give Stricker, Mahan and a few others a long, hard look in the ensuing weeks. Padraig Harrington should also recover from his win at the British in time to contend for the PGA Championship. Sean O'Hair is also one of Suite 101's darkhorses for the final major. Given the split schedule this week, with top players at the World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational and the full-field event, the Reno-Tahoe Open, there will be some shake-ups in the rankings next week. With the Reno stop, plenty of players will have the chance to bring home a good paycheck and jump in the rankings. Of course, the WGC event will carry a large paycheck.
